The ‘ing’ Sentence

The ‘ing’ Sentence:

Try starting the sentence with the ‘ing’ form of the verb. 

Remember the rule- when you have finished your -ing phrase, place a comma, then write the rest of the sentence. 

Some ‘ing’ words  you can use- listening, watching, running, realising, emerging, grasping, speaking, analysing, signaling, exposing

Examples:

Realising the danger, people fled from the cities. 

Shaking away the nerves, he walked towards the microphone.

Looking at them dead in the eyes, I did a Fortnite dance. Killing the person quietly, I buried the body in my neighbours yard.

The ‘ed’ Sentence

The ‘ed’ Sentence:

Try starting the sentence with the ‘ed’ form of the verb. It makes for a punchy start to the sentence 

Remember the rule- when you have finished your -ed phrase, place a comma, then write the rest of the sentence. 

Some ‘ed’ words  you can use- surprised, excited, committed, undaunted, determined, overpowered, concerned, cornered, delighted, enthralled

Examples:

Determined to win, Tony pushed himself harder in the last meters of the sprint.

Concerned for the well being of others, the Prime Minister passed new laws. 

Possessed by a ghost i was possessed.

Scared, i went to investigate the noise.

The ‘W’ Sentence.

The ‘W’ Sentence:

Try starting the sentence with a ‘w’ word. These sentences make your work sound thoughtful and knowledgeable. 

Remember the rule- not ever ‘w’ word works as a sentence starter. Remember to put your comma in when the parts of the sentence affected why your ‘w’ are finished

Some ‘w’ words  you can use- who, while, whereas, when, where, what, whilst, with

Examples:

Whilst the teacher was talking, the students were pretending to listen. 

With a majority of votes, Hitler seized power in Germany. 

When i noticed i won the lotto, i was excited.

in this game we have 3 groups of 6 and we had to make it to the other side using only hula hoops, and we had to be in the hula hoops that were on the ground

She is inspirational and the 40th prime minister of new Zealand. she is also 40 her partner is Clarke Gayford, she was born in 1980 and became prime minister in 2017, she has a child, she went to the university of Waikato in 2001 and Morrinsville college in 1998. her home address is 260 Tinakori road, Thorndon.

at science today we made dirty water  by putting lots of solute in it and we left it for about a week and now we have tipped half of the water out and poured clean water in to make it cleaner and we did that twice. 

To make dirty water and change it back to clean water.

So first we put all the solute in the beaker then we added the solvent into the beaker then we had the solution after that we diluted the water the we filtered it then we got the filtrate and after all of that we got the final solution.
Yes our experiment did work and honestly it is pretty surprising to me that it did and I am very proud of our experiment. Yes I would try my best next time and I would try harder by making it more complicated for me and hopefully after that we would at least have fun with a challenge.

Today in science we were doing the dirty water experiment the point was to dilute the dirty water that we had in the beaker. Today we diluted the dirty water and made a filtering system to fully clean the dirty water. 

Before we diluted the water it was looking really dark and murky it was really hard to see through to the other side of the glass and it looked like some grabbed a pile of dirt and a spoon full of water. It did not look well. When we diluted the water we had to do it two times and it was fun the first time we did it, it looked like nothing had been done to it but the second time we did it there was a big change in colour.

We made the filtering system with a base retort stand two funnels filtering paper and filtering cloth. It was really fun and easy to make I had a lot of fun making it with my friend Odin and I wish to do this experiment again another time. 

To make the water we had to go outside and get 2 spoonfuls of dirt one spoonful of pebbles and 100 ml of oil and then after all of that we added 100 ml of water and then we stirred until finally we had the outcome of the project and it came to be dirty water.

We diluted the water by tipping out 100 ml of the dirty water then adding clean water and then finally after doing the process a second time to dilute the water we got most the dirt out of the beaker and having the dirty water diluted.

To  filter the water we used filter paper and filter cloth and we pored the dirty water into the funnels and made them go through twice so they would go back to being clear water. And it was really cool doing the experiment.
